Elucidating the role of OCIAD2 and its interactors in mouse hematopoiesis

image.png

We are studying the role of mitochondrial proteins of the conserved OCIAD family in regulating mouse hematopoiesis. OCIAD proteins are mis-expressed in several malignancies but their normal roles are not completely understood. We showed earlier that Asrij/OCIAD1 maintains stemness and prevents aging of the blood system (Sinha et al., Blood, 2019; Sinha et al., Aging Cell, 2022). We are unravelling the role of OCIAD2 in hematopoiesis by using an OCIAD2 knockout mouse model. We are also studying interactors of OCIAD2 and how they may affect hematopoietic homeostasis.
